Your thoughts are what will move us forward in our efforts to meet the needs of older adults in Arcata. We hope we can facilitate productive aging where we continue to feel a part of our community. One way we are trying to find out what people think is this informal way of gathering information. We also are hoping to do more formal information gathering (e.g. participatory GIS mapping, City of Arcata study) down the road.
Please download and complete our survey (PDF) and mail it to the address at the bottom of the form.
You may be asking the wrong questions. You are asking for solutions without defining the needs.
I think I will need:
Easy walking on the streets and crossings.
Help with shopping and putting it away in the cabinets,
an hour a day for housekeeping
short term help fixing things.
Help getting my pants on over my stiff leg, and so forth
THEN ask what type of setting can provide these things
Oops I forgot to ask for follow-up notification.

Hi GF, I think that is a really good observation about the survey.
We found that it was harder to write a good survey than we first imagined. We hope to get some help from people who know more about it.
We talked to a founder of Santa Rosa’s “Friends House” they sent surveys to California Quakers before they decided on what to build as an elder community.
